Clean Campaign Pledge

(Click to view this document in PDF format, with Das's signature)

Right now, our state government is dysfunctional. Politicians are bickering rather than addressing the important challenges of the state. As candidates and good Democrats we need to rise above the petty politics and engage voters in a dialogue about how best to move our state forward. I welcome that dialogue.

Today, I pledge to the voters in our community to run a clean, positive campaign that is respectful to my opponent, and respectful to the families and residents of this district. I ask that my opponent, Susan Jordan, join me in renouncing the politics of division and commit to the following:

  • I commit to running a clean, issues focused campaign and not attack my opponent on the campaign trail.
  • I commit to no negative campaigning or negative contrasts on Facebook, the internet, mail, TV ads, or at community forums by myself, my campaign or by my family members.
  • I commit to a clean campaign, focused on the issues.
  • I commit to speak to and portray my opponent respectfully and communicate with voters in a respectful manner.
  • I commit to renounce any third-party independent expenditures attacking me or my opponent.
